Case Study:

Interactive Globe Animation

When the Story Required More Than Static Design.

This project required more than traditional web animation or scroll-based effects. To accurately convey the geological timescale behind Texas limestone, the experience needed depth, motion, and spatial context that standard front-end tools couldn’t provide.

Learning Three.js became a necessary step, not an optional enhancement. The challenge was balancing real-time 3D rendering with performance, usability, and accessibility, all while keeping the interaction intuitive and grounded in the narrative rather than the technology itself.

The result is an interactive moment that helps users understand material history at a planetary scale.

Bringing Geological Time Into Motion.

The interactive globe transforms a static concept into a spatial experience, allowing users to explore Earth’s shifting geography across geological eras.

Rather than relying on pre-rendered animation, the experience responds in real time, reinforcing the scale and duration behind the formation of Texas limestone.

Refining the Experience.

The final interaction balances storytelling and restraint, using motion to enhance clarity rather than distract from it. The result is an experience that feels refined, purposeful, and aligned with the brand.
